Fall Conference 2020 & Board of Directors Nominations

Jo Zurwell May 1, 2020

ACGS, in a proactive approach for the Fall Conference 2020, has decided to postpone the conference until the Spring of 2021. With so much uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we are keeping the health of our members and volunteers at the top of the list of priorities.

Our by-laws dictate that we will hold annual elections for the Board of Directors. This function has historically been handled at the Fall Conference. Since we are not having a fall conference in 2020 we have devised a plan to still have our elections and be compliant with our by-laws.

Plan of Action

  • May 1st – 31st Open Nominations for Board of Directors
  • June 1st – June Newsletter and Website – announce all candidates for Board of Directors positions
  • August 1st – Genealogist – Will contain the ballot for voting on the new board of directors as well as a short biography for each candidate running so that everyone knows a little about each person.
  • August 1-September 18th –
  • If you receive the journal electronically, we ask that you print the one-page ballot, complete the ballot as instructed in the journal, and mail back to us post marked by September 18th.
  • If you receive the journal in the mail, we ask that you cut out the one-page ballot, complete the ballot as instructed in the journal, and mail back to us post marked by September 18th.
  • Ballots post marked after September 18th will not be counted.
  • Only active members are allowed to vote.
  • Only one ballot per membership for those of you that carry a family membership.
  • October 1st – We will report the results of the voting on our website as well as in the October Newsletter
