Resources at the FamilySearch Center
Presented by Patty Shorland, Exeter FamilySearch Center
ACGS is pleased to host a free, live educational webinar presented by Patty Shorland of the Exeter FamilySearch Center.
Learn how to make the most of the resources on the FamilySearch website, including online help, the wiki, online classes, the benefits of creating a free account, ways to search the online record collections, and understanding and using many of the functions on the Family Tree section of the website. Patty will also share information about resources and databases available at the Exeter FamilySearch Center, such as American Ancestors, Ancestry (World Edition), Arkiv Digital (Sweden), Find My Past, Fold3, Geneanet, Irish Ancestors, MyHeritage and Newspaper Archive.
Patty enjoys sharing her passion for family history and helping people learn how to trace their own roots. She has a bachelor’s and master’s from the University of Denver, manages a family business, and has six children and 17 grandchildren spread throughout the western U.S. and in Argentina. Patty has been researching her family for over 50 years. Her fascination with genealogy began when she was about 10 and a great aunt showed her a small book on her family history. Living in New England for 20 years has given her a chance to visit the places her colonial ancestors lived and do research in archives from New York to Maryland. She has volunteered to work in FamilySearch Centers wherever she has lived.
This program will be offered live only and will not be recorded.
Attendance is limited to the first 100 registrants, so early registration is encouraged.
