Description
Professor Lawrence spent 30 years researching the captives of New England taken during the French and Indian War. Much has been published about these captives but Roger was compelled to find new details from contemporary sources. He has examined, extracted, and translated vital information in marriage contracts for those captives or prisoners who were assimilated into the French Colony.
The revisions in this edition of the “English Captives & Prisoners Remaining in New France” are based primarily on results of some DNA testing. When some of our readers of the original edition discovered some of their ancestors in it, they went on to have DNA testing done to see if they could push back some of their ‘lost’ English ancestors. All major changes were written about extensively in our Society’s journal when the discoveries happened. If you missed out on the print edition, here’s your chance to get the entire first edition plus the updates that have occurred since 2015.
